I am advisor at the Ministry of Planning, Development and Management in Brazil. I am responsible for the trade and development agenda on services, ecommerce and the digital economy. We pursue the goal of pushing forward the digital economy agenda within the government. We are fully engaged in discussions that stress the importance of pursuing policies to enable the country to become a real player in the digital era, and developer of digital technologies focused on improving productivity, competitiveness and income creation. Previously, I have worked at the Ministry of Industry and Trade and at the British Embassy. I have masters in Economics and I am at the doctorate program in Economics at the University of Brasilia. My thesis focus on the impacts of adoption and development of digital technologies on productivity and the impacts of digital trade for development countries. I am also contributor to the blog Economia de Servicos (http://economiadeservicos.com), writing about role of platforms, network effects and ecommerce on the digital transformation of economies.
