I am the President of Daiwa Steel Tube Industries Co., Ltd., one of the most innovative galvanized steel tube manufacturing companies in the world founded in 1932, which produces around 60,000 tons of in-line galvanized steel tubing annually for scaffolding, frames for greenhouse, roller conveyers, and other structural/mechanical tubing for various applications.
As the 3rd generation business owner and leader, I turned around the company by redeveloping and reinforcing of business Infrastructure, implementing my new business strategies in domestic and overseas markets, and restructuring its enterprise systems by using state of the art ICT, human resource management, and leadership/communication techniques. I have been expanding the company with our passionate and skillful associates by adding new products & service and M&A.
Before coming back to Daiwa, I worked as a consultant for Bain & Company Japan and as an engagement manager and a strategist of Netyear Group Corporation.
I am also a very active and passionate leader for social service. For example I acted as a president MIT Sloan Society of Japan for past 3 years and obtained 2015 Harold E. Lobdell ’17 Distinguished Service Award by MIT.
Why are you optimistic about the future of work?
Because I believe in capability of mankind.
