Shannon Farrelly directs branding, creative production, communications, marketing, and media relations at the MIT Initiative on the Digital Economy (IDE). Shannon also leads communications and Outreach Partnership for the Inclusive Innovation Challenge (IIC), MIT’s premier global economic prize that recognizes, rewards, and promotes organizations that are using technology to create broadly shared economic opportunity.

Shannon has delivered creative direction, film direction and production, writing, editing, and policy/media communications for Fortune 500 companies in the technology, healthcare, high-end fashion, legal, and entertainment industries. Her diverse client portfolio includes MIT, Ann Taylor, Anthem, the Department of Justice, and Steven Bochco Productions. She is passionate about applying creativity to solving complex communications and social challenges, and employs a hands-on approach to collaborating with clients, artists, and technologists to bring creative concepts to life.

Shannon studied political science, philosophy, and theater arts at Loyola University and holds a MA in Film from Columbia College.
