Sasha Hobbs, Chief Operating Officer
Known as a highly innovative and strategic thinker with a wide organizational competency set, Sasha brings over twenty years of direct leadership experience. A proud member of the Métis Nation, Sasha is passionate about advancing indigenous sovereignty through technology, education, and leadership development.
Sasha has a wealth of knowledge and expert skills in organizational development, partnerships, strategy and policy development, program development, employee engagement, leadership development, and best practices in business administration. In her career, Sasha has been the architect of several successful academic and government programs and partnerships.
Beginning her academic career as an Instructor at Nicola Valley Institute of Technology, Sasha has held progressively higher positions as Program Coordinator at Native Education College, and later as Associate Director and Director at Simon Fraser University. Sasha may be best known for launching and leading the BC Indigenous Youth Internship Program, an award-winning program created in partnership with the BC provincial government and First Nations leadership, still in operation 12 years after its inception. Sasha holds a BA and MA in Literature, and is the recipient of several academic and provincial awards for her work.
