María Luisa Parra is an Electrical Engineer, graduated from the Central University of Venezuela, with a postgraduate degree from Stanford University, USA. in economic systems engineering. participated in specialized programs at the universities of Wharton, Penn State, Babson College and MIT in Finance, Strategic Planning, General Management and Technology.
She has more than 30 years of experience in the energy, petrochemical and Information Technology and Communications sectors. During her experience in the petrochemical sector, she served as Strategic Planning Manager and Business Manager in PEQUIVEN (PDVSA’s petrochemical subsidiary) and served as director of joint ventures with international companies in the petrochemical sector in Venezuela. In the telecommunications sector she held responsibilities as director of digital developments (mobile applications) . In 2003 she directed a private investment fund.Since 2004, she has been the director of Fundación Ideas, a non-profit organization that pioneered support for entrepreneurs through the Ideas Competition. She coordinates the effort of academic support to entrepreneurs by 40 Venezuelan universities, has evaluated more than 12,000 initiatives nationwide Since 2012 she has acted as adviser and mentor of technological start-ups of WAYRA (TELEFONICA) in Peru, Venezuela and Chile. She is co-founder and president of PREMIUM PRAXIS SpA, Chile
