Jorge is currently the Chief Information and Chief Digital Officer for Quimmco, a privately held company an industrial consortium with businesses established in the metal-mechanic and chemical industries.
Jorge created his IT role and has transformed it for twenty years to match the evolution of Quimmco. Jorge has driven IT to new frontiers and has created new departments and functions to make the IT an innovative partner to support all areas of the organization.
Jorge holds a Bachelor in Systems and Computer Sciences and an MBA from the ITESM Campus Monterrey and also holds an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management, he is also trained as a Certified Designer and Installer of Thermal and Photovoltaic Systems.
He is the Chair for Mexico and Lead Educational Counselor for the Undergraduate Program for MIT where he interviews bright and innovative young applicants for the past twelve years.
He has received two awards from MIT, one for his participation in events that highlight the work of the alumni in Mexico and Latin America and the latest one for the excellence of his work as an Educational Counselor for Mexico being the second Mexican in receiving this recognition.
