Gonen is an Investment Manager at MaRS Catalyst Fund. The fund provides early-stage venture capital funding and support to Canadian companies that are building strong businesses while pursuing social and environmental outcomes.

Gonen has extensive leadership, strategy, operations, and business development experience. He served for two years as the COO at Acerta, an AI data analytics startup that provides Industry 4.0 and autonomous driving solutions to the automotive industry, focusing on sales and business development, finance, operations, and HR. Prior to that, he was a Business Development Associate working on a go-to-market strategy for a new R&D project at GreenField, a biofuel company based in Ontario. Gonen, born and raised in Israel, began his professional career as a Naval Officer in the IDF as a Missile Ship Tactical Officer and Basic Training Team Leader.

Gonen holds an MBA from Rotman (graduated in 2017) and a B.A in political science and business administration from the University of Haifa.
