Doctor in Systems Engineering and Computer Science by COPPE/UFRJ, with a thesis on the subject of distributed algorithms, Dr Gladstone Arantes has more than 20 years of professional experience in the IT field. Dr Arantes has a long career as a professor of graduate and undergraduate programs, teaching both technical and management disciplines and creating and coordinating MBAs on IT management. Dr Arantes led the IT Enterprise Architecture team during a corporate digital transformation program in the federal development bank of Brazil (BNDES). He is the technical leader of the blockchain initiatives at BNDES, including the so called BNDES Token, which he conceived for transparency of application of public money. Dr Arantes is a member of the ITS study group about Blockchain for Public Interest and writes about blockchain for specialized sites.
